Today we are celebrating approval of version 2.2.! We spent at least 3 weeks working on it and almost a month to get it through to the appstore.
The major improvement there is integration of OpenFeint. We have most of all features of OpenFeint used in World Countries: Leaderboards, Achievements and Challenges.
The most interesting feature is Challenges. It’s might be a bit unusual, but once you learn how to use it, you will definitely like it.
After every quiz or flag game you will be offered to send your game as a challenge. If you do that, it means you will send exactly the same questions (for quiz) or flags (for flag games) to your opponent(s) and after your opponent finishes the challenge you both will see who did better.
As usually we give away some promo codes for new users:

And we have our first review on the update – “Amazing update. Improved like 300% after update”
Hope to see the full version to be approved soon…
We have been working for 2 months on a new version of World Countries. This update is not just an improvement, it’s a complete redesign and almost fully redeveloped new application. That’s why we assigned it version 2.0. What we have done:
1. Complete update of the content. New CIA Factbook and updated wikipedia articles. We added definitions and ratings from CIA Factbook
2. Completely new design. New icon, new home screen and layout for info
3. Split factbook info into smaller categories.
4. Added History and bookmarking features
5. Added full screen flags with flag descriptoins
6. Updated Quiz with animations and graphic buttons
7. Added two flag games – memory match and flag guess
The update is on review at the moment. As it’s there for more that a week, we expect it to be released any time soon.
Our plans for next versions include:
* more country specific content from wikipedia
* more maps (continents and regions)
* photos from countries
* anthems
and some other features.
